WANDERING IN BROMO
Mount Bromo is an active volcano, yet also the most well known in East Java. The massif area itself has become one of the most popular tourism attractions in Indonesia for thousands of tourists simultaneously visit the national park.
I got a chance to visit Mount Bromo with my family recently. We set off on a trip the night before and got a place to stay. As soon as we arrived, the cold air immediately rushed in to our bodies and made us shiver on that night.
Catching the Sunrise
The sunrise view on Mount Bromo is the most highly anticipated moment that people from all over the country and even from overseas come here not to miss. To be able to see the sunrise, we needed to go on an organized jeep tour. We woke up at 2.30 AM and we rode the jeep all the way up to the viewpoint called "Mount Penanjakan" which is 9,088 ft above the ground. Since we wanted to go to the highest viewpoint, then we had to go with motorbikes. I can surely tell that if you want to visit this beautiful mountain, you need to wear layered clothing and a nice pair of jacket or coat to defend yourself from the shivering cold air. We arrived at the viewpoint at 4.30 AM and it was already flooded with people who have camped from the night before. Unfortunately, we could only see the skyline from afar and I could not capture any pictures. Looking at the situation, we decided to go back to where we parked our jeep.
The Fascinating Mountain
As soon as we arrived at the place where we parked our jeep, people told us that there is a viewpoint on the left side where we can still see the beautiful mountain. It was 5.30 AM and we walked to the viewpoint to claim a spot for taking pictures. I was stunned and amazed when suddenly the thick haze unraveled the prominence of the mountain. We spent more than 30 minutes to enjoy the wonderful view and take some pictures. I did not take much pictures here, since in the end I got a lot of amazing pictures on the other sides of the mountain.

The Whispering Sand and the Savana
I have always had an interest on these two places, which are adjacent to each other. The jeep ride took 30 minutes since we went all the way from the top to the bottom where the Savana is located. The area itself is extravagantly vast, so it would not be possible for us to go on our feet. We requested the jeep driver to take us to the Whispering Sand which is quite far away. The extreme road bears us a stunning panoramic view. We got down from our jeep and the area was covered in light haze. This is the place where I took the most number of pictures. After taking some pictures, the jeep driver took us to the other side of the Savana where we take several other pictures including us sitting on the top of our jeep.

Horseriding for the First Time
People say that we should not miss a chance to ride horses from the Savana up to the Crater, so we all decided to try horseriding. This was the first time for me and it was really exciting. I rode two horses, their names were "Untung" and "Jalu". Honestly I was quite nervous when I first climbed up to the horse but it was not frightening at all. The horsemen said that we need to relax and just enjoy the ride and we did. We climbed all the way up to the Crater where the horses were dropped off. To be able to see the Crater itself, we needed to climb up hundreds of staircases. Another same thing happened, it was already flooded with thousands of people. We then decided to go back and ride our horses down the inclining mountain. Horseriding is a must-try and you might want to try doing that at certain times in your lives.

Definitely Worth It.
We have visited all the famous attractions all over the area of Mount Bromo, so it was the time for us to leave. It was 8.30 AM and we rode our jeep up to where we stayed. We packed our belongings and left the house where we stayed at around 11 AM and we set off on a journey to the next towns. This trip to Bromo is definitely worth it and pleasing. I highly recommend all of you to visit this amazing mountain on holidays especially with your family and loved ones.
Home is where the heart is.
I find it in my family.
