KATA KOPI - A BRIEF REVIEW

As most of you know, I am someone who drinks tea than coffee all the time. I mean, I kind of belong to the percentage of population who even drinks tea at coffee shops. The thing about coffee is that I cannot stand strong and acidic ones. At first I would reject any kinds of coffee, yet nowadays I have been making more room to try some (still preferably milk-based or latte).

A while ago, I was hanging around the POP-UP SALE BAZAAR (a bi-annual event with participating tenants of mostly clothing and beauty lines). I was there to check out their Food Area and once I stepped inside, the first thing that I saw right in front of me was KATA KOPI! They happened to open a small booth inside the bazaar. I have been familiar about their brand and people have been recommending them.

Based on curiosity and quite a benefit that I do not need to necessarily travel to other parts of the town to go to their outlets, I ordered their best-selling cup: Kopi Legi!

First of all, I tend to like my cup of coffee to be hot at most times (just as how I like it with my cup of tea). Another reason is that I love coffee cup designs, especially those with magnificent branding and the cups for hot coffee usually look better in my opinion. Their cup design is among the most minimalist. Just a clean white cup with the word "kata." printed in black. Yet, I just love how simple yet powerful their take on their branding is.

Alright, now about the coffee itself! So for the milk-based, they have two variants: Kopi Legi and Kopi Kokoh. The difference between the both of them is just the type of milk used as the base. Kopi Legi uses regular full-cream milk, while Kopi Kokoh uses coconut milk as the substitute. I ordered both actually, yet there was not much difference that I found between the both of them. I have to say that Kata Kopi is simply one of the best that I have tried so far. For someone who cannot really stand strong ones, their coffee was smooth and delicate! I think the ratio and proportion between the milk and coffee was perfect for me (balanced, yet still emphasizing the coffee itself / not too milky).

So what I can say overall is that they are beyond nice for the Gram, which I think deserves an appreciation for keeping a balanced navigation between branding/marketing and quality preservation. All the best for KATA KOPI!
