ISEYA JAPANESE RESTAURANT - SAMPOERNA STRATEGIC SQUARE, SUDIRMAN
I would like to thank Zomato Indonesia and Iseya Japanese Restaurant for inviting me and giving me the privilege to attend the Private Lunch Set Experience along with five other fellow foodies; to spend a wonderful afternoon at such a high-end Japanese restaurant that has been opening its door for more than 6 years.
Located in Sampoerna Strategic Square (North Tower - GF), Iseya Japanese Restaurant specializes in robatayaki and teppanyaki. They are considered high-end since they have sustained quite a credible reputation in town, especially that it is located at the prestigious area of Sudirman. Though they serve dishes that are more likely to be in Izakaya style, yet they are still considered as Fine Dining for they cater fine quality in their dishes and providing private dining for their guests.
The restaurant itself accommodates around 30-40 people in total with having three exclusive dining rooms:
1. Robatayaki: In this room, they specialize in serving Robatayaki over their sizzling charcoal grill. Here, guests usually have quick lunch breaks or more casual dining occasions and this room is available for public.
2. Teppanyaki: In this room, they specialize in serving Teppanyaki over their amazing pan; lively cooked in front of their guests and everything is served fresh from pan to plates.
3. Private Dining Room: This room is special and usually booked for private occasions or business meetings. Located at the very back of the restaurant where guests are ensured to get the best privacy while still enjoying the best of dining.
I arrived ten minutes early, therefore I got to take an exclusive interior tour around the whole place! Without further ado, here are the pictures that I took on their interior and ambience:
We got to try some variations of their Lunch Set (Bento) which are newly launched due to customers' demand. These bento lunch sets are perfect if you desire an impeccable taste to practically have during your lunch breaks while still enjoying the finest from Iseya.
Tori Ten Udon Set
This lunch set is the most simple and humble one of all the others that I got to try during the private lunch. Though the chicken might not be that appealing in sight, yet it was pretty much well-coated and nicely fried. Plus, a classic udon to pair the delicacy.
Steak Bento
This one was the definite HIGHLIGHT of the lunch; and in fact, everyone's favorite! Not much words to explain how glorious and sumptuous the beef was. Living up to the standard and quality of Iseya Japanese Restaurant, they select fine cuts of meat and it was cooked to the perfect level of doneness - gloriously MELTED IN THE MOUTH! Instant foodgasm acquired.
Mini Katsu Bento
This one was also nice! I just love how they fried the mini katsu without being way too dry or crispy; preserving the juiciness of the meat. Simply fulfilling!
Unagi Bento
This one also made the heart to split into two when it comes to deciding the favorite. Honestly, it was tough to decide my personal favorite because they cooked the Unagi to be really fresh and succulent while giving such an immense taste to the palates and it also MELTED IN THE MOUTH! How glorious, right? I would not mind to have this one for lunch repetitively!
Gindara Salmon Bento
Gyutan Teishoku
Iseya Japanese Restaurant and Chef Junya Takeoka specially prepared some fine slices of Gyutan to be presented live in Robatayaki style during our lunch. Served right from the grill with some garnish (yuzu, green chilli, dried spices) - this one was simple and not that extravagant in taste, yet it reflected the amazing quality of the ingredients used.

DISCLAIMER
Iseya Japanese Restaurant is not the kind of Japanese restaurant that you might find a lot in common. You might be quite surprised by their pricing, yet back again, they are considered as Japanese fine dining, though the fact that they serve izakaya/robatayaki as the specialty in the house. Iseya Japanese Restaurant is more likely the place where the executives hang out during their lunch or dinner, perfectly accomodates private meetings while catering excellent meals. Yet, do not worry because they are not that highly strict or stiff to dine-in. So, if you are looking for a high-end Japanese dining with amazing quality of ingredients without being way too extravagant, this one deserves to be on your list.
